2020 Vision

It has been far too long since our last blog – shame on us. Nevertheless, Happy New Year!

At Armour Heritage we are delighted to start the new decade with a great deal of positivity for the months ahead, with a varied list of interesting projects from an equally varied and valued list of clients to get stuck into, with an increasing number of solar projects back in the mix and shining bright too.

For us, 2019 was our busiest year yet, with all aspects of the business seeing steady increases, albeit with a notable rise in desk-based projects. From bespoke heritage statements on specific heritage impacts affecting non-designated heritage assets, Listed Building and/or setting issues affecting Conservation Areas and Scheduled Monuments, to more detailed schemes for extensive residential projects and renewables, it has ensured a challenging and stimulating year. Fieldwork has also been busy too, with geophysical survey, trenching and mitigation work (watching briefs and more extensive excavations) forming part of the interesting heritage mix.

This variety has not just come in the type of projects we’ve been involved in though - we’ve also maintained an extensive geographic spread from the tip of West Cornwall up to the East Riding of Yorkshire and seemingly everywhere in between, particularly the southeast, with marked increases in Surrey, Essex and Suffolk. For us in the southwest, a rise in regional projects in Somerset, Wiltshire, Devon and Gloucestershire has also ensured we are able to keep things local too.
